The Toyota FJ Cruiser mid-sized SUV was first glimpsed as a concept vehicle at the 2003 North American International Auto Show. It made its productions debut at the 2005 version of the show, and arrived at dealerships with the rest of the 2006 model year. Power was delivered by a 4.0-liter V6 engine, which was teamed to rear-wheel drive and a five-speed automatic transmission. Available all-wheel drive came teamed with a six-speed manual transmission. The FJ Cruiser was discontinued in the United States following the 2014 model year.
Standard features included electronic stability system, power side mirrors with turn-signal indicators, three front windshield wipers, anti-lock brakes, 17-inch wheels, and AM/FM stereo with CD. Options included a six-disc CD changer, TRD and Off-Road packages, and auxiliary gauges that noted the vehicle's pitch, your heading, and the outside temperature.
